The health and safety of our community is United Way’s top priority. As schools and businesses continue to shut down in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, many children and families are left wondering how they’ll cover basic needs such as rent, mortgage, childcare, and food.
Our main focus during this time is to ensure Utahns who are disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic have the help they need to weather this storm. In response, United Ways of Utah are working together to support our community and alleviate some of the economic impact many Utah families are facing.
The Utah COVID-19 Community Response Fund supports organizations working with individuals impacted by coronavirus and the potentially devastating economic consequences of the outbreak on low-income families and individuals. It is designed to expand local nonprofit organizations’ capacity to address the economic impact on those who have been hit hardest.
The Fund supports programs and services including:
• Rent and mortgage assistance • Crisis nurseries and childcare • Healthcare services for under/uninsured • 211 Information and Referral
With schools and many child care centers closed, the One Utah Child Care program has been created by the state’s Child Care Task Force to provide free, temporary emergency child care options to support essential employees in the health care and public safety sectors. We need your financial support to equip child care centers throughout the state with critical supplies to ensure the health and safety of children and caregivers.
