2-1-1 Managing Director
Chiara Cameron-Wood is the Managing Director at United Way of Salt Lake, as well as the coordinator and state representative for the Utah 2-1-1 system. The 2-1-1 program the organizes and maintains a database of health and human services throughout the state of Utah, connecting individuals and families to much needed resources through phone, chat, text and email while supporting direct service providers by helping them connect their clients.
As someone who was widowed at age 30 with four kids, she has used the very resources we refer to help support her family while she went back to school. Chiara feels passionately that information is a powerful tool and that getting people the help they need can foster a better possibility of stability and success.
Chiara has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Human Services with a specialization in Social and Community Resources. She has been working in the 2-1-1 system in Utah four and a half years, acting in other capacities as the Program Manager at UWSL and the Lead Specialist in the Utah County center. Before that she was involved in volunteer coordination work through United Way of Greater Toledo, as well as Hannah’s Socks and a domestic violence prevention and support agency in rural Ohio.
