Adriana Lopez was born and raised in Mexico and immigrated to Utah in search of opportunity. Once here, she was quickly faced with the realization that in order to be successful, she had to learn English and acquire skills necessary for employment.
Aligned services at Guadalupe School, a community school that partners with United Way of Salt Lake, changed the odds for Adriana and her family. Adriana worked hard to learn English, gain citizenship, and get a job. Now, Adriana works and volunteers at Guadalupe School, helping other families like hers and giving back to a community that changed her life.
“I have lived in Utah now for 16 years. It’s the most beautiful time of my life.”
