After many long days and nights of hard work, we are excited to announce our NEW www.uw.org website!

You hear people say all the time that “no one ends up working in the field that they got their degree in,” but I honestly thought that was an exaggerated claim that would never apply to me. Well here I am, two years out of college with a Political Science degree… working in web design. Still hoping to evoke positive social change, but in a way I hadn’t anticipated. And if you want to get involved in social change locally, www.uw.org is a prime place to get started!

Our new site is a place where you can get to know your community, understand our work, and easily get engaged. Learn how people LIVE UNITED by visiting our Stories and Video pages. And don’t just stop in once. We will continue to highlight inspiring stories from our community. Virtually visit the Community Schools where UWSL works via our new interactive map and see our specific community goals that pinpoint how are changing the odds for children and families the area. As you travel through the site and familiarize yourself with the needs in our community, take the opportunity to sign-up to get involved – we can’t move our work forward without your support. There is a simple sign-up form at the bottom of each page so that you can stay in touch with us about engagement opportunities.

Regardless of what you are able to give, your investment makes long-lasting changes throughout the community. Together we can get results that no one can achieve alone. Start now by exploring the different giving options such as offering a personal donation, joining a Donor Network, conducting an employee campaign, or making an in-kind donation to one of our Community School or Neighborhood Centers.

ADVOCATE

If you kept an eye on the last Utah Legislative Session, you probably heard about UWSL’s groundbreaking advocacy work as we oversaw our country’s first-ever Pay for Success program created so that at-risk children in our community can get access to high-quality preschool programs without putting tax-payer dollars in jeopardy. If you were feeling inspired or even curious, visit our ADVOCATE page to grasp the basics of advocacy, learn the issues, and start advocating with us.

VOLUNTEER

Maybe you heard about our Day of Caring event that took place on September 11, where 5,700 volunteers completed 130 different service projects throughout our communities and you want to start volunteering with us! Visit our VOLUNTEER page and see the different opportunities there are to serve locally. Whether you are a group or an individual wanting to volunteer continually or just once, you can find a project to match your skills and schedule.

Lastly, if you’ve ever tried to look at www.uw.org on your phone and struggled to read the small font – please pull out your phone (if you aren’t on it already) and give us another chance. I promise you, you’re going to have a better experience. Whether you’re on your phone, your iPad, or your desktop — you’re going to easily find what you need because our new site is designed to fit your screen!
