Snow covers the ground; lights adorn houses, trees and department stores; and the sense of excitement and joy reverberates through the air. Yes, it is once again that time of year when toys, wrapping paper and fruitcakes move to the top of the shopping list. Why not extend that spirit of generosity to others in our community by participating in 1430 KLO, NOW 97.9 and United Way of Salt Lake’s “Season of Sharing”?

UWSL is partnering with 1430 KLO, NOW 97.9 to encourage folks to make donations to Community Learning and Welcome Centers in our community. There are many individuals who may not have a Christmas wish list this year because food, clothing and medications take precedence. We can all share the joy of the season by helping to fulfill basic needs, as well as provide a bit of happiness in the life of a child or teen by donating items both needed and wanted to the following Centers:

Davis Community Learning Center (Wasatch Elementary)
Guadalupe School Community Learning Center
Holy Cross Ministries Community Learning Center
Horizonte Welcome Center
Hser Ner Moo Community and Welcome Center
Kearns Junior High Community Learning Center
Midvale City Welcome Center
Mountain View Community Learning Center
Woodrow Wilson Community Learning Center

Please take a look at our website to find specific donation requests for individual sites and drop-off times. If you aren’t able to donate items, we are also accepting monetary donations which can be made on our website, as well: http://uw.org/Events/-Season-of-Sharing.html.

Join us in sharing the joy of the season by helping to make a difference in the lives of others in our community!
