Savage Services continues to be a shining star in our community. Its endless support of United Way of Salt Lake leaves me impressed every year and this holiday season was no exception. Throughout my time at United Way, I have been fortunate to work with Savage Services on its workplace campaign, employee tours to our Neighborhood Centers, and many other projects including its yearly holiday drive.

This past December we saw Savage’s amazing support and generosity at work. We had the opportunity to partner with Cottonwood High School Language Academy as Savage employees generously donated a holiday gift for each student.

Nate Salazar, Community School Coordinator at Cottonwood High School was also impressed by Savage and said the following:

“Cottonwood Language Academy students were thrilled to get the holiday gifts and were very appreciative of the Savage Corporation’s generosity.  Students made a large thank you card that they all signed and made individual cards with personalized notes that expressed their gratitude.  Students were not the only ones grateful for this experience many adults who work at Cottonwood were moved by Savage’s display of the Holiday Spirit for our students.  From everyone at Cottonwood, Thank You Savage!”

Special thanks to Cydney Garland, employee of Savage Services, for her coordination of this large project. We also appreciate Amy Worthington, Volunteer Events and Training Coordinator at United Way of Salt Lake for her help and expertise.

In addition to thanking Savage employees for sharing holiday cheer this season, it is also my pleasure to introduce Tim Harrison, Community Investment Advisor, as the new United Way of Salt Lake representative to Savage Services. As my role at United Way has recently changed, this is an opportunity to pass the torch to Tim. To Tim: You are one lucky individual, Savage is an incredible company who will consistently remind you what it means to LIVE UNITED. And to employees at Savage:  You are in excellent hands. Tim will impress you with superb coordination and guidance as you grow your relationship with United Way of Salt Lake.

Thank you Savage for several wonderful years and volunteer projects! Here’s to many, many more.
