This month marked my favorite event of the year, the Young Leaders Night Out. This year, we again spent the evening in style at Rice-Eccles Stadium, thanking our Young Leaders with an elegant, upbeat event overlooking the city in which we’re investing. The night is meant to celebrate the work and donations of our Young Leaders donor network.

We also highlighted a few stories from Young Leaders members. They illustrate the unique reasons why they get involved with the network and support our community.

“I am passionate about the Young Leader donor network because it facilitates opportunities for us to enrich the lives of our community members as much as they enrich our own.”

–Sarah Rumpsa, Young Leader since 2014

“I’m involved in Young Leaders because it’s a great way to learn about the community and meet people who care about making a difference. It’s how I learned about Mentor 2.0, which has already had a great impact on my life, and I hope my mentee’s as well.”

–Samantha Tabacco, Young Leader since 2014

“I joined Young Leaders really because they lay every opportunity to make a difference right at our feet. We don’t need to dedicate our lives to a specific cause, or have any specific education. We just have care, respond to an email, and show up.”

–Austin Chatlin, Young Leader since 2013

“I got involved with Young Leaders as a way to get involved. I grew up in a single-parent home and feel very fortunate to have a mother that worked hard to make sure I had everything I needed to succeed. I know that in many cases, just a little bit of help can go a long way.”
