This past Friday night, United Way of Salt Lake held its 6th Young Leaders Annual Event. This is one of our favorite events of the year – held at The Depot with great people, music, food, drinks, prizes, and fundraising for early childhood education! This yearly event is a chance for United Way of Salt Lake to thank Young Leaders (who give an annual gift of at least $1,000 or more) and also show prospective Young Leaders how this group of young professionals change the odds for kids and families in our community.

We are excited to announce that Young Leaders and friends raised nearly $20,000 for early childhood education this year! Way to go!

DSC_0069Young Leaders announced Sally Brown as the Young Leader of the Year and also thanked Gavin Reese for his time and dedication as the Young Leaders Chair! Greg Summerhays was announced as the new Chair, and we are so excited to have such a dedicated Young Leader in this position. Congratulations to Sally and Greg and a big THANK YOU to Gavin for all of his wonderful work over the past three years.

Nearly 400 attendees enjoyed networking opportunities, awesome food and drinks, and a private concert featuring The Spazmatics! Guests were also able to purchase opportunity drawing tickets to be entered to win from a fantastic selection of prizes. After the 2013 Young Leaders video was shared, announcements were made, and the prizes were all given away, Young Leaders and friends danced the night away to their favorite 80’s tunes. Everyone definitely brought their dancing shoes!

Thank you to all Young Leaders who so generously LIVE UNITED by giving of their time and means to make our neighborhoods a better place for us all–and thank you for joining us at the Young Leaders Annual Event!

A sincere thank you to our sponsors and to the UWSL staff!
Without all of you, this evening would not have been possible
