In celebration of NBA Jersey Day, we’re recognizing the partnership behind one of our key student initiatives. United Way of Salt Lake is proud to be an NBA Foundation grantee, and that support helps make Promise Student Advocates possible, pairing Utah high school students with caring adult mentors who help them navigate school, postsecondary planning, and life.
We’re grateful to the NBA Foundation for investing in Utah students, and to our community partners for their leadership and support.
Promise Student Advocates
Promise Student Advocates aligns the efforts of existing mentorship and student navigation services including Mentor 2.0 through Big Brothers Big Sisters Utah, Check & Connect through Granite School District, and AmeriCorps-supported mentoring. As of August 2026, 637 students are receiving mentorship support through Promise Student Advocates.
Promise Student Advocates and other Promise initiatives are powered by United Way of Salt Lake.
