Last month, United Way of Salt Lake’s Board of Directors sent a letter to our congressional delegation encouraging them to seize the current opportunity to modernize and reform our country’s outdated immigration system.
The work UWSL has been involved in with Utah’s immigrants and refugees has helped shape our understanding of, and position on, the critical need to support compassionate and comprehensive immigration reform. UWSL supports reform that focuses on the needs of children and families, and includes policies like the DREAM Act, which help to create a pathway to citizenship for immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.
