Rocky Mountain Power has been powering the West for over 100 years — in more ways than one. United Way of Salt Lake owes Rocky Mountain Power a huge thank you, not just for keeping the lights on and office running, but for being one of our biggest supporters in both funding and volunteerism!
On September 11, Rocky Mountain Power sent 20 volunteers to Woodrow Wilson Elementary School for United Way of Salt Lake’s Day of Caring. These awesome volunteers read and played with some of the most at-risk students in the state of Utah – in fact, 90 percent of those students come from homes living at or below the poverty line. The volunteers’ cheerful presence and positive influence was felt throughout the school. One student asked volunteer Candace Turner, “Your boss is a lawyer? Well I want to be a lawyer someday so I can work with you, too!”
Only two days later, Rocky Mountain Power hosted its 16th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit United Way of Salt Lake. The golf tournament included an incredible team of organizers, eighteen sponsors, and 110 golfers. When combined with the silent auction, upcoming United Way campaign, and the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation, they hope to raise over $150,000 this year!
Thank you, Rocky Mountain Power, for your great example of LIVING UNITED!
