The 2013 holiday season was truly a season of giving! United Way of Salt Lake received an overwhelming variety of support from community members and businesses to help us change the odds for families and children within the communities that UWSL serves!
One of the most surprising successes we had was the response to our warm winter clothing drive. We had more than 20 groups organize clothing donation drives including Papa Murphy’s, Shopko, Scheels, Larry Miller Sports Properties, and a variety of other business, youth groups, and families. Members of our community generously provided new and lightly-used winter coats, snow pants, gloves, scarves, hats, and snow boots. These items are being distributed to students and families in need at over 20 community schools and centers that would otherwise not have means to stay warm during the cold winter months.
We express our most sincere appreciation to everyone who reminded us what it means to LIVE UNITED by giving so generously during the months of November and December.
