DEBORAH BAYLE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Named in honor of United Way of Salt Lake’s former president and CEO, the Deborah S. Bayle Scholarship Fund for Youth benefits students who have overcome tremendous obstacles in their efforts to graduate high school and attend college. Since its inception in 2015, the scholarship fund has supported over 100 students whose lives have been impacted by United Way of Salt Lake’s work.
These student are inspiring. Most are the first in their families to pursue college, and, in many cases, the first to graduate from high school. Through their written applications, as well as their in-person interviews, it is clear that their motivation to go to college is driven by their desire to help their families and to give back to their communities.
In addition to their scholarship, students receive on-going support from United Way of Salt Lake staff members, as well as programs offered through the school they attend. We want all Deborah Bayle scholars to understand they are not alone in their higher education pursuit and there is a large community of people who want them to succeed.
Investing in these students is a tremendous opportunity to change the course of their futures.
