For Partners

YOU can help create change that lasts

Since 2011, United Way of Salt Lake has been building collective impact partnerships in schools, neighborhoods, and across our region. Together we have dramatically changed the social service and program delivery landscape of our communities. Today, more than 170 partners are committed to working together to get results at scale. We know that together, we can create change that no one organization working in isolation can do on their own.

Become a Collective Impact Partner

United Way of Salt Lake works with over 170 partners to achieve its goals in the community using a rigorous collective impact and Results-Based Accountability approach to do so. Want to join us? Becoming a partner requires the following:

Common Agenda

Focused work on a community level outcome as measured by agreed upon indicators.

Dual Accountability

All partners must be comfortable holding themselves accountable to both program-level and population-level outcomes.

Shared Data and Continuous Improvement

Solving complex problems requires a team effort. This means partners must share program-level data to identify promising practices and experiment using the scientific method to get better results, faster.

"Yes" In Our Hearts

There is no silver bullet for closing the achievement gap, and while we all have ideas, the way forward is not certain. This means partners must approach the work with “Yes” in their heart, and embrace failing forward together.

While UWSL invests in many of our collective impact partners, we do not have a traditional competitive application process for our collective impact grants. Investments are made based on partnership planning and the identification of gaps in our collective strategy.

Resources for Collective Impact

The following resources also help us explore answers to that important question:

**Effective March 2020, United Way of Salt Lake will be ending our Community Support Grant program (those grants not aligned to our Promise Partnership). While some current grantees will continue to receive a reduced amount of funding until 2022, we are not accepting any new applications for community support grants. Please read this letter for more details.
