Stuff the Bus, United Way of Salt Lake’s back-to-school backpack and school supply effort, wrapped up this week, and – wow! – was it a success!
Here are some fun Stuff the Bus facts for your enjoyment:
- 11,296 – # of students who benefit because of Stuff the Bus donors and volunteers!
- 46 – # of locations where school supplies were delivered!
- 5,866 – # of backpacks filled with school supplies and distributed to elementary school students!
- 747 – # of volunteers who made Stuff the Bus happen! This included 79 people and groups that collected school supplies; 123 volunteers who counted, sorted, boxes, and loaded supplies as well as dozens who helped set-up for the event; and 545 volunteers of all ages who stuffed school supplies into backpacks at the Stuff the Bus event on August 12!
- 1,494 – # of hours volunteers contributed to Stuff the Bus
- 130,378 – # of school supplies donated
The most donated school supply item was – drumroll please – pencils!
