Believe in Your Financial Future is part of the Utah Council on Economic and Financial Education’s (UCFEE) efforts to get financial literacy into the blood-stream of our communities. As part of this effort, a website, www.BelieveInYourFuture.org, has been created and has recently gone live. On this website, people can find reliable information on a variety of financial topics. We’d like your feedback on the website. Please email any comments or questions to United Way of Salt Lake’s Income Director, Lynn Rilling (lynn@uw.org).
United Way of Salt Lake, along with other UCFEE members, would like to express gratitude to the following organizations and companies for contributing financially to Believe:
AARP, Far West Bank, and Chase Bank.
Believe in Your Financial Future was part of the JumpStart Teachers’ Summit on Friday, November 5 at the University Marriott. There was a great turn-out, with over 250 teachers attending!
At the JumpStart Teachers’ Summit, United Way of Salt Lake sponsored a booth and Lynn Rilling taught two classes with the assistance of Bonny Steele (who has helped develop the Believe website). The purpose of the classes was to let teachers know that this website is available, easy to use, and has helpful and trustworthy information that they can use for their classes. It’s also a place where they can direct their students’ parents for financial information on a wide variety of topics. The classes were taught to a total of approximately 80 teachers (K-12).
All in all, it was a successful day and word is gradually being spread that the Believe website is a great place to go for financial information no matter one’s age, background, or economic situation.
