Education is key to developing productive, prosperous communities. United Way of Salt Lake is defining educational priorities, developing partnerships and designing projects to address problems in the educational system at their root causes. Qwest Foundation awards grants to non-profit organizations that generate high impact and measurable results through community-based programs, and supports programs and initiatives that build lasting value in our communities. They are focused on enriching the lives of children by supporting solid preK-12 educational programs, and believe that educating children is the cornerstone for building strong and enlightened communities. Last year the Qwest foundation generously awarded UWSL a grant in the amount of $69,432 to go specifically towards our work in education and our Community Learning Centers. There are six CLCs throughout our four county service area of Salt Lake, Summit, Davis and Tooele counties. CLCs unite schools, families and communities to create a support network that nurtures the development of the entire family. The work that they do aligns with Qwest’s understanding of the importance and necessity of solid pre K-12 education. Thank you, Qwest for your support of United Way of Salt Lake and our community!
