Amber Gracanin was appointed to serve on United Way Worldwide advisory body to provide strategic direction on issues impacting women and families. 

 

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – JULY 10, 2024 United Way of Salt Lake and its Women United® group congratulate Amber Gracanin on her appointment to the Women United Global Leadership Council, an advisory body dedicated to opening opportunities for women in nearly 200 communities across the globe. 

The Women United Global Leadership Council serves as an advisory body providing strategic recommendations to United Way Worldwide as well as a key mobilizer engaging women leaders to advance gender equity and advocate for access to quality, affordable, educational childcare. The group also supports the growth of Women United globally.  

“Our new members will enhance the Council’s mission to fight for gender equity,” said Cathy McRae, Chair of Women United Global Leadership Council. “As women uniting for good, we will be working with the Women United membership and nonprofit partners to mobilize support and advocate for our signature issue of early childcare and education.” 

Gracanin is a Senior Vice President at U.S. Bank and has been involved with United Way of Salt Lake for more than a decade, holding positions within Women United, Young Leaders, and as a donor. “Amber is an outstanding leader and committed to ensuring our work achieves results for kids in Utah,” said Bill Crim, President & CEO of United Way of Salt Lake. She has a compassionate approach to her work within the community and we are honored to have her represent United Way of Salt Lake on the Global Leadership Council.”

Women United represents over 50,000 members working with United Way in hundreds of communities. Gracanin underwent a rigorous nomination process and was selected by the Council for her leadership, commitment to embracing diverse perspectives, and investment in United Way’s mission.  

She joins three other newly appointed members, Jane Short of United Way of South Hampton Roads, VA; Stacy Williams of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, WI; and Rebecca Lynch of United Way of Central Indiana, in serving a three-year term.
