This month, UPS Corporate Customer Service Center employees signed up to volunteer at Guadalupe School, a United Way of Salt Lake Neighborhood Center. They were a lively bunch, and thrilled at the opportunity to read with the kids. I was happy to see so many LIVE UNITED shirts, too!
The Promise Guadalupe partnership serves children and families in the Rose Park, Poplar Grove, and Glendale communities in the Salt Lake City area. These neighborhoods experience high poverty, but Guadalupe has promised to teach economically disadvantaged children and non-English speaking adults the vision and skills they need to live productive, rewarding lives. Guadalupe is dedicated to ensuring that 90 percent of its students meet or exceed the district or state academic standards in core subjects.
That is just what UPS-ers helped with! They provided quality one-on-one attention to students, supporting our goal of all kids reading on grade level.
Thanks to UPS Corporate Customer Service Center,
for their increased commitment to change the odds this year!
