As I reflect on the holidays that just passed, I can’t help but think of the way Macy’s has always held a special place in my heart this time of year. From the Thanksgiving Day parade, to Christmas window displays, to last-minute shopping, the holidays just wouldn’t be the same without Macy’s. That’s why I was especially excited when Macy’s in Cottonwood Heights called United Way of Salt Lake to set up a holiday volunteer opportunity.
During three of the busiest shopping days of the year, United Way of Salt Lake volunteers helped wrap and decorate gifts that shoppers had purchased for friends and family. This was a fun opportunity for us to make the holidays a little simpler for shoppers, while explaining the great work that United Way of Salt Lake does in the community. Shoppers had the option to tip the gift wrappers, which resulted in almost $600 in donations for United Way of Salt Lake!
Thank you, Macy’s, for hosting us, even during the busiest time of the year for your employees! We had a great time interacting with your customers and staff and we look forward to joining you again next year.
