Thank you to our incredible volunteers for supporting our community and work!
This year, United Way of Salt Lake celebrated our 31st Day of Caring – a volunteer event that has evolved into more of a “season of caring” with service projects spanning the last days of summer into fall.
We matched groups with 33 projects in schools, after-school programs, and nonprofits across the Wasatch Front. Nearly 700 volunteers will have rolled up their sleeves to meet needs across our community once final projects wrap up in October.
Volunteers planted trees, built shelves and organized community closets and food pantries, constructed GaGa Pits on playgrounds, beautified campuses, taught financial literacy, hosted carnivals, assembled meal kits, and more!
Volunteers’ impact was felt by the communities they supported.
CHG Healthcare’s Day of Caring Project at Copperview Elementary
“On behalf of our entire team at Copperview Elementary, I want to express our gratitude for your commitment on Friday for our United Way Day of Caring. The collective effort you put forth has made a world of difference in our Community School. Your willingness to spend your day with us in such a meaningful way is a testament to CHG and the exceptional employees you all are. We could not have accomplished so many crucial tasks without your support.”
Mortenson Construction’s Day of Caring Project at East Midvale Elementary
“Thank you for your time and talents at East Midvale Elementary this past week. The Math Matters event was super well received by our families and your extra hands and hearts were so appreciated. There were many “happy bunnies” in that gym!!”
William’s Day of Caring Project at Fitts Park:
“We are so grateful for all of your hard work to improve Fitts Park on Day of Caring. Your participation was essential in helping us plant a dozen trees, paint four bridges, and restore nearly a quarter mile of creek bed!”
