When Scheels became part of our community in the fall of 2012, they were immediately invested in making it a better place. Long before the Sandy store even opened, Scheels began encouraging their employees to give back not just of their means, but also of their time–and numerous volunteer projects were coordinated for their employees. Scheels recently conducted their first employee giving campaign which raised approximately $15,000! They had a kick-off cookout where management grilled burgers and hot dogs for the employees, and they also raised several hundred dollars through a fun competition of “Penny Wars” between departments.
Scheels understands that it takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future, which is why they’re committed to working with United Way in each community where they are located. Scheels has become a wonderful partner to United Way of Salt Lake – their employees are outstanding contributors, giving back through several initiatives throughout the year and striving to make a difference. Scheels employees really know what it means to LIVE UNITED! Thank you for all you do to support United Way of Salt Lake and helping us change the odds for kids and families.
A special thank you to Karen Jones, Jacey Sharping, and Kim Davidson for organizing such a successful campaign!
