Midvale is a robust city with many programs for residents including the Community-Building-Community Initiative (CBC), which started in 1998 to improve the general wellbeing of Midvale residents. The CBC focuses on five areas: health, family stability, education, safety, and income. These focus areas are important because 21 percent of residents 25 and under don’t have health insurance, 14 percent don’t have a high school diploma, and 28 percent of households have an income less than $35,000.

Last month, we explored United Way of Salt Lake’s partnership with Midvale City. This month, we challenge YOU to get involved in Midvale by joining in a big day of service to change a life, change a school, change a community.

On June 24th, United Way of Salt Lake will be joining 150,000 other United Way volunteers around the country to help harness the volunteer spirit, and improve the conditions in which they live.

There is only room for 100 more volunteers to help impact the community of Midvale. Hillcrest High School needs your help to deep-clean the school and make it shine for the returning students next fall. Or, sign-up for a community outreach project where we will be walking around Midvale neighborhoods handing out information pamphlets!

All ages are welcome, and lunch will be included!

Don’t miss this opportunity and come help change a life, change a school, and change a community!
