Each year, we invite you to participate in Stuff the Bus, United Way of Salt Lake’s initiative to get school supplies to kids who need them most. In August, many children will return to school without the supplies they need to enter the classroom ready to learn. This year, we need your help to provide school supplies to 11,000 students, more than we have ever supported before!
You can get involved in these fun, easy ways to make a difference for a local student:
- Collect school supplies at your company, with your friends, or in your community from now until August 12
- Donate supplies with the click of a button in a virtual supply drive
- Count and sort school supplies during the week of August 15
- Volunteer to help stuff backpacks on August 27at Rio Tinto Stadium
The school supplies we collect are donated to low-income students at neighborhood centers and community schools. These centers and schools work daily with the families and youth of Davis, Salt Lake, and Summit counties to improve academic achievement, reading, and development. Supplies collected will be stuffed into backpacks and delivered to nearly 30 locations. We’ll be collecting supplies for more than 11,000 students!
