Volunteers during United Way of Salt Lake’s 27th annual Day of Caring read to students and also helped improve the Midvale Elementary School’s grounds and those of Midvale Middle School. According to United Way of Salt Lake, approximately 2,500 volunteers provided more than 10,000 total hours completing 75 one-day projects throughout Davis, Salt Lake and Summit counties. Day of Caring pairs employees from 53 local corporations and groups with volunteer opportunities in schools and other nonprofits throughout the communities.
“As always, United Way celebrates the efforts of the thousands of dedicated volunteers and companies who selflessly serve in our communities,” Bill Crim, CEO of United Way of Salt Lake, said. “Day of Caring is the signature event of United Way’s volunteer efforts, and it is always unique because it allows local companies and members of the community to give back and have a hands-on experience helping those who need it most.”
