Salt Lake City – Across the Wasatch Front, thousands of students are preparing to go back to school without the necessary supplies. To help more Utah kids return to their classrooms equipped for learning, United Way of Salt Lake has connected with eight community centers and 26 schools across the valley to identify and meet the needs of 13,000 students. Community members and businesses have stepped up to the challenge and are hosting more than 45 independent supply drives to collect the items students need. Together, we are working to gather more than 100,000 individual supplies, including pencils, backpacks, folders, markers, crayons, notebooks, and more.

In early August, dozens of volunteers will count and sort donations and prepare them for delivery to schools across the Wasatch Front.
