Do you have what it takes

to be a Young Leader?

The United Way of Salt Lake Young Leaders Network is evolving! We hope you’ll join us on this exciting journey as we strive to positively impact young readers in our community and expand the Young Leaders network while supporting United Way of Salt Lake’s vision to eliminate racial and economic opportunity gaps.

Three exciting changes to the Young Leaders Network:

  1. No minimum donation requirements – We want getting involved to be barrier free
  2. A signature event: Young Leaders is adopting United Way of Salt Lake’s Read Across America Day (RAAD) – We’re excited to help students become proficient in reading by 3rd grade, which is proven to help more students graduate high school. Click here to learn more about Read Across America Day
  3. A $20,000 fundraising goal – We believe in the Young Leaders and their power to make lasting social change through fundraising

Young Leaders is creating a space for all young and young at heart United Way of Salt Lake donors to be more involved with United Way of Salt Lake’s nationally recognized work. We are creating a community with a purpose that believes in removing barriers and promoting reading through a signature event, Read Across America Day. A community that is open to everyone from first-time volunteers to long-term supporters. Through advocacy, volunteerism, fundraising, and teaching kids a love of reading, Young Leaders are committed to creating lasting meaningful connections while improving our communities — and having fun while doing so.

Who can be a Young Leader?

Anyone! We ask that you make a recurring monthly donation to United Way of Salt Lake at a level that is meaningful to you, and that you participate in our Read Across America Day activities – you can sign up as a fundraiser and/or join us as a volunteer!

Want to get more involved?

Great! We’re expanding the Young Leader Council — take a proactive role and volunteer to serve on the Young Leader’s Steering Council. Joining the council is a perfect way to gain experience, deepen your engagement, and shape the future of Young Leaders. Reach out to learn more about this opportunity and its responsibilities.
