On September 24th, United Way of Salt Lake and Women United hosted the first virtual Power of Your Purse gala and fundraiser, and it was a huge success!

The event looked different this year, but that didn’t stop the dedicated supporters of Women United from showing up to empower the leaders of tomorrow.

Julissa Arce, best-selling author, social justice advocate, and former Wall Street executive, delivered an inspirational keynote, sharing her experiences and thoughts on education and racial equality. Listen to her story:

The event also featured live and silent auctions, a paddle raise, and an opportunity drawing. With the help of a generous donor who matched donations, we were able to raise $134,622 to support the next generation of women and girls in our community! This event helps fund important Women United initiatives like high school mentoring and tutoring, scholarships for first-generation college students, and STEM learning opportunities in Title 1 schools.
