United Way of Salt Lake provides meaningful opportunities for volunteers in schools, and with our civic partnerships and networks, to advance our mission of lasting social change.
We focus on activating community and corporate volunteers to fill existing impact-driven, aligned needs identified through these partnerships that support students and families.
Our team is committed to doing our best to fill all the requests that come in, but volunteers or in-kind donations are not guaranteed. We encourage partners to use us as one avenue for filling your needs in conjunction with other outreach.
If you’re already a partner with United Way of Salt Lake’s Volunteer Engagement Team, this page is designed to provide you all the links and information you might need! If you’re not a partner yet and want to become one, email us at volunteer@uw.org.

Stuff the Bus
July/August
Help kids have the supplies they need for the new year. Stuff the Bus is our largest volunteer event, where members of the community come and fill backpacks with school supplies to be handed out to schools and organizations before the start of the school year.
Day of Caring
September 9
Help revitalize our community. Day of Caring enables thousands of volunteers from local companies to complete projects at schools, parks, and other community organizations. Projects include outside beautification, teacher prep assistance, and tutoring opportunities.
